Basket with a natural handle brought directly from Bolgatanga, Ghana. It is handwoven in elephant grass , a hardy variety of grass that is dyed to create these colorful designs.

The city of Bolgatanga in Ghana, popularly known as Bolga , situated near the border with Burkina Faso, is the capital of the Upper East region.
Bolga is known as the handicraft center of northern Ghana, with a large central market, where you can find the famous Bolga baskets, which are made and sold there. Bolgatanga and the surrounding towns are also among the largest producers of leather work, straw hats and blouses in the entire country.
